How long will that mistake ruin my life? How was I to know Dad wears shark slippers? I thought his feet was in danger!

Oh yes, you are always an outlaw, when you have done something illegal and it has been years and years ago! It is sad, but it is so!!

What you do as a little puppy comes back to haunt you as an adult! So sad!

I’d throw myself at the mercy of the court and plead youthful indiscretion, Rover.

I presume Rover means “dog years” ago. Dogs age much more quickly than humans in their first human year then it slows down towards the human rate.
