By 2050 things would be really bad not just for humanity also for the surviving life-forms we haven’t yet killed off. All the coastal cities would be permanently flooded. Many fewer islands around too. Wars over fresh water, food and dry land. Resources to keep our technology going and build new devices.
With mild winters we now have super wasp colonies that have 16,000-19,000 members per each 7ft hive. It use to be just one in Alabama. Now today 90 at last count. Aren’t we powerful for being able to stupidly, mindlessly, thoughtlessly accomplish it? Alaska is 60° F warmer than it should be for this time of year with a minimum of 6 forest fires ongoing today.

I could see an “Over the Hedge 2” if it hewed more closely to the spirit of the comic.
