Once again, Jimmy has managed to sail one right over my head.

I often identify with Janis, but I’m with Arlo on this one. Let the kitty in!

I can’t be positive but I think Janis doesn’t want an audience.

Either way Janis doesn’t want an audience. Looks to me that Arlo and Janis might be getting ready for under cover recreation.

Now that her children are grown and out of the house, the necessity of having an audience is eliminated. Janis appreciates regaining her privacy.

we don’t let our cat in the bedroom because he likes to tell us at 2am that he needs more food….not so because he has plenty and also he wants us to get up and play with him…

This strip was almost universally accepted as an allegory on the nursery rhyme Hey, diddle, diddle…. Luddie is awakened in wee hours of the night by activity in the bedroom (diddling). Of course, she was younger then. :o)
