I recognize “Alice in Wonderland” and “Gulliver’s Travels”. What are the other ones?
The bottom right is Dotheboys Hall from “Nicholas Nickleby”
a tip of the hat to great illustrators of the past
Help us out, Pab. (What, no Gustav Dore?)
Is the first one Huck and Tom on a raft?
Huck and Tom in sailor suits? Nuh-uh.
Google Images confirms Kingoswald’s ID of “Nicholas Nickleby”.
But still need #1 and 3.
No clue on 1 & 3, but I love the strip.
..I read four books at a time until one gets interesting, then,I read one book at a time..
This reminds me of Jasper Fforde’s character Thursday Next. One of the Thursday Next books is “Lost in a Good Book.”
I am stuck on #1 and #3 also but feel certain #3 must be from some Dickens work.
I feel that way all the time…
