Also: Thanks for following the swim tracker, watching us draw a straight line very slowly that still somehow felt, from where I was, like some kind of art. Although this image may be more appealing AND descriptive.
This is actually from Saturday, but Friday’s swim looked just like it, only we finished up on the other end of the bridge. See, the Straits don’t always look like this. At all. So in order not to tempt the gods, you plan for a window instead of a specific time. Our chase boat captain* agreed to be available Saturday as well. So when Doug’s and my Friday swim went so well, and Saturday promised to be just as gorgeous, it didn’t take long to strike a deal to get our spotter/crew, Qing, into the water as well. Now, Qing is a good deal better a swimmer than us, than just about anybody, so she swam over and back while Doug and I crewed for her … over and halfway back. Once we were safely through the shipping channel and high-traffic channel in general on the return leg, Captain and first mate were willing and very able to keep track of the three of us while we podded up and swam the last couple of miles to the Mackinaw City Beach. And even snap a couple really good pictures.
So, anyway, now you know kind of what heaven looks like.

I have to admit, I’m curious to find out what the two options are.

Was he inspired to think of Finland by the Finnish flag on Frazz’s T-shirt?

My mom’s “compromise” was “We’ll do it my way and we’ll do it now!”
My dad’s preferred compromise was “you do it your way and I’ll do it my way!”
My preferred compromise is “You decide and I’ll grumble about it.”
