It looks like a Diprotodon, a giant Wombat of prehistoric Australia. Those Gene Engineers got wonky toward the end as they created and recreated animals and plants to withstand the heat and killing storms as civilization fell in North America and most everywhere else. So they set things up for these inheritors of the new world who are also GMOs. (They also set up molecular fabricators and optical education devices at night in their caves, also set up, to educate them up the ladder of civilization only faster. But it has fouled up some now.) As we can see.
