I simply cannot comprehend what it must be like to have to pay to go to a doctor, or hospital, and to have to worry about losing everything you have over a serious illness in your family. As your government would say, “thoughts and prayers” to anyone who has those concerns on their minds.
My memory of doctor visits in the US was that you had to provide a credit card before you could leave the office (even at our regular doctor who had our insurance information). That later changed so you had to provide the card before you were allowed in. My father (who was in his late 80’s) fell while visiting in Germany. We took him to a hospital to get checked and have some stitches on a pretty long cut on his face. When he was leaving they asked for an address where they could send the bill, which turned out to be under 100 euros. (At the time 1 euro was about $1.20)

It’s a safe bet for the doctor. He knows Eno won’t get far.

One already goes through the mental competency part of the exam trying to decipher the insurance policy and finding everything it doesn’t cover.

Reality, dear friend, is that the feudal system never ended; only the names have been changed to protect the guilty…
