JJ changed her hair years ago – remember the pan-look? …and I don’t mean Peter. As for makeup, I’m clueless. I’ve been blessed. My bride of 47 years still doesn’t use any.

The current trend in large cities is for young men to wear light makeup.

I’m too old to even consider that.

Arlo, the word is different, not funny.

There are some women who can look sexy for not wearing makeup. It’s like their face is naked.

    Perhaps Arlo merly meant “different”.

Yes Janis, you do look better au natural. And I bet Arlo thinks you’d look even better if you were even more au natural.

“Oh! So now I’m funny looking! Funny, how? Do I look strange?… comical? I wouldn’t want you to sleep with a stranger tonight, so you can just sleep on the couch!!” >8-((

Most women look better sans makeup (IMHO).

My wife looks good with makeup and better without. But I can’t seem to be able to convince her of that.

IMHO one must walk on eggshells when one speaks to the looks of another. silence can get you “oh so you didn’t even notice!?!” and asking can put you in Arlo’s place today. and opinions of any ’look’ good or bad can take you to places/situations you just never imagined you’d end up

Tuesday, I came across an 85 year old woman prowling the cosmetics section. I was tempted to tell her that unless she applied it with a trowel, it wasn’t going to do her any good. Luckily, I had the good sense to keep my mouth shut.

I like a light coverage foundation to even out my skintone. I hate heavy, cakey foundation.

Note to young people, this is not something you try unless you have been married for at least 20 years. This kind of thing is only to be done by professionals, stupid professionals I’ll grant you, but certainly not amateurs.

He must see her without makeup every single day. I think most women look better with a little makeup. I use a concealer under my eyes and light foundation to even out the skin tone. It doesn’t look like makeup, just health skin.

I use a concealer under my eyes and blend it out. No foundation because I sweat so much I’ll just rub it off. I wear mascara to make my eyelashes look darker. That’s enough for me, at 73.

I know someone who wears a lot of makeup who, coming into the room with the light hitting her just so, in that instant looked exactly as if her face were embalmed. It was pretty startling.

mafastore I don’t wear makeup either. Waste of time and money. Also – my sister in law and my youngest sister put on eyeliner and look glamorous. I put it on and look like Gene Wilder. Last time I wore makeup was at our wedding and that was an attempt to please his mom.

Husband and I are still dating – dinner and movie Saturday night – dinner only if there is no movie playing at the theater we go to. Married 40 years, engaged 2 years, dated 4 years, and knew each other a year before that.

No lotions (or portions) at all – they all feel gross on the skin. I do have to wear sunscreen if we are out for an extended period of time (like most of the day as opposed to house to car/car to store and such). Husband found one – forget the name – that is a roll on and does not feel as gross. (Also take meds that make one sun senstive.) I also have a major problem with being bitten by bugs when I go out, but don’t want to use bug repellent. I found something called “Bug band” that one wears on their wrist like a bracelet (looks like the “cause” bracelets popular a few years ago) and it works very well. Has a case to keep it in. Other brands also, but have not used them. When we do a reenactment and can’t put on wrist, I close it, hang it on a ribbon and hang the ribbon from my apron string set to fall inside the slit for my pocket and it works that way also.
