“I Love Trash” isn’t the best song to play at a sophisticated tea party. Go with the Cookie Monster tie. “C is for Cookie” is a better option.

Adam is lucky. Usually us big guys avoid bow ties.

All the more reason to wear the black bow tie. Who wants to hear a song from Oscar the Grouch?

Tea parties with teddy bears and pretend tea only really get a limited amount of serious dress up. Though I think I wore Marine Dress Blues to a 3 year olds ‘tea party’ once. So who am I to judge.

This would be my ex hubby. He has a special way with kids, and pretty much raised his niece. He would drop everything to take care of her, and they would play endless silly games or do things like Adam in the strip above. For example she LOVED the Lion King, and they would play out the movie over and over including full costumes. She’s now married and lives in another state but he still drives there often to visit. He wanted to be a teacher, but never got his certificate which he regrets deeply. He raised my son who thinks of him as a father, and would never have accomplished all that he has in his life without his guidance. I am forever grateful to him for that. Our relationship got complicated but we’re still best friends even though he’s 3,000 miles away.

One December Sunday the choir suddenly heard “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” on electronic chimes. One of the other basses didn’t realize the Santa tie his kids had given him had a pushbutton …
