It’s important to remember that Darby Conley doesn’t own a cat. The strip is about that insane roommate to whom you may be related or married or otherwise unable to evict and the struggle for sanity
I can only assume that Bucky’s supposed VIP list only exists to tell people that they aren’t on it. That reminds me of Dogbert’s schadenfreude party, where he just told people that they couldn’t come.
And that makes me realize how much fun it would be to watch Bucky and Dogbert together. Dogbert would definitely win, but I’d be interested in seeing whether Bucky realized that or not.
I know he’s a cat, but Rob really needs to assert that the apartment is HIS territory and the cat is allowed to stay there because of his generosity, that’s just the basic law of pet ownership.
Bucky is creative and prolific… at mayhem. Too bad he has such a negative attitude. I’ve known few cats so CATankerous. (Pun surely not intended.) Still, one has to wonder about the sanity of Rob putting up with such nonsense day after day. Agreed, presented in the strip Bucky is sentient and many of us put up with similarly ill-mannered (dare we say insane) people every day. So Bucky represents all in mankind that is off-center certifiably nutz.
Which makes me wonder why he’s not in cat-prison by now.
