It looks like he probably favors Buicks for hood ornaments.

I wish whoever draws these cartoons would get out of East Ballard. It’s nothing but loonies living over there. And Lawrence has a lot of ‘splanin’ to do to the Ballard Wrecking Yard and Carpet Store.

Lawrence is pretty strong to keep his posture up. The bumpers in those days were meant to actually take a “bump” without folding and they had a lot of chrome plating.

And what about that hat ornament?

A fellow hot rodder, I presume.

What we can’t see – because his mouth is closed – is that all of Lawrence’s teeth now have diamonds and gems embedded in them. Lawrence is nothing if not detail-oriented.

It’s just for balance. He can lean back a little now.

Oh, and it’s a lot of help on a crowded subway.

Lawrence is the Edsel of Ballard Street.
