“An object at rest remains at rest, and an object in motion remains in motion at constant speed and in a straight line unless acted on by an unbalanced force.” ☑️
“The acceleration of an object depends on the mass of the object and the amount of force applied.” ☑️
“Whenever one object exerts a force on another object, the second object exerts an equal and opposite on the first.” ☑️ ☑️
Never “strap” a jet engine to anything. There’s no “why?”. If the mounting isn’t designed to apply forces through the center of gravity and attached with the proper securing devices, your burning remains will become yet another abject lesson. Happens about once a year somewhere in the world.

Only Troy would think it was a good idea to test thrust under a tree.

Even failures (negative results) can be helpful (positive). They can rule things out. They can show you what doesn’t work and what not to do.
For instance, Troy probably needs to thrust in a different place or at least aim in a different direction.

On the bright side, those pesky weeds in the liftoff area will not be returning anytime soon…

Not so.. in woodlance parlance a snag is a dead tree. Tony’s thrust flew him smack into a live tree.

He shouldn’t have binged on the IRONMAN movies. “How hard can it be?” has led many a man to dangle from a tree.
