Boyd eventually realized that he is the tail end Charlie of the household.

Boyd is the odd one out unless Eunice lets him perch on her lap.

May be if Boyd wore a polka-dot dress.

Not having a tail is proving to be detrimental.

/// Their three pets never cluster round Boyd,

so he’s jealous and somewhat annoyed.

They seek her for she’s warm

with a pillowy form,

but his gas and bad breath they avoid.

He’s definitely not the Top Cat in this home.

I know the feeling. I’m third in the hierarchy.

There was a young fellow called Boyd,

Who’s company no one enjoyed.

He sat by himself,

Beside the bookshelf,

And insisted he wasn’t annoyed.

Boyd takes some comfort from the rare alignment of a Sunday Ballard Street comic coming on a Sunday. No doubt his luck is changing with this new synchronization.

There’s one thing that worries our Boyd,

that something that others enjoyed.

His breath? Bottom rung, and that really stung.

In the hierarchy of snuggles, he’s dead last.

It’s a dynamic situation, not a static one that can be determined by simple observation.
