I prefer to carry an umbrella even in rain-proof clothing as I’d rather have the rain deflected from a distance. I see my rain-proof clothing as an emergency back-up rather than the main defence.
I’m a flower gardener, I like rain, in moderation. Except on my glasses. But, that’s what baseball caps were invented for; great for sun or rain protection.
