Hamhock: Hey, baby, what's up? I'm a Norse god. That's right. Woman: I don't think so... Hamhock: What, you think they sell this stuff at the airport? It's from Asgard, sweetheart! So whaddya say we grab some salt-cured whitefish and snuggle up in a mud-walled hut together? Huh? I don't get it, Tyr! Why isn't this stuff working?? Tyr: I don't know... you mentioned the whitefish, right?

Offer the redhead some carp balls or sucker fish sticks.

Salt-cured whitefish or not, you’re still a pig.

I’d go with pannekaker with cloudberry jam. It’s not like the gods were living in wattled huts.

Lutefisk. You forgot the lutefisk.

I think I’m going to try that line on my wife tonight! She’ll probably laugh… and it’s a shoe in when you make them laugh, right? (Not to mention she’d probably love the salt cured whitefish!)

The real giveaway here is the mud hut. Pigs live in mud. Vikings lived in wooden longhouses.

The salt-cured whitefish isn’t the real buzzkill. It’s the lutefisk that really drives them away.

“Salt-cured” doesn’t go far enough. The fish is called lutefisk. From Wiki: “Lutefisk is dried whitefish. It is made from aged stockfish (air-dried whitefish), or dried and salted cod, pickled in lye. It is gelatinous in texture…” There are multitudinous jokes about it. In my family (of Swedish ancestry), my mom and dad and I loved it, my three sibs could not stand to be in the same room with it (the smell is… interesting). There’s no middle ground. Kinda like Mr. Trump…

Maybe she prefers salt-cured ham over whitefish?

Actually – I haven’t seen Tyr have that much luck with the ladies either …
