FALSE PREMISE: driving automobiles and motorcycles on public roads has ALWAYS BEEN A PRIVILEGE. THIS is why I deeply despise these extreme leftists. They’re no better than the fascisti, just their aggro is different.
It seems obvious that paranoid, fearful people need guns like a security blanket just to function. I know people who cannot leave the house without one. So their fear of losing said security is great.
I have no problem with owning a gun! I grew up with guns. We used them for target practice and hunting purposes. However, back in the day when the constitution was written, there were militia marching through the streets with muskets, fife and drum. Today, this amendment is taken to the enth degree by right wing extremest. They are obsessed with the thought that’s someone is going to come and take away their guns and rights! Many build compounds, store ammo like there’s going to be a war. I call them Chicken Littles! To them the sky is always falling….paranoia has got them by the family jewels….they need to get a grip! Gun regulations are for the safety of the masses, due to the horrendous massacres we have had in the country, and this country alone! if one doesn’t commit crimes, why are they so afraid to register? What their logic? I know criminals and mentally ill, will always have access but that is because of illegal gun shows who don’t register their sales…OHIO is one offender….how many kids, how many people must die before people come to grips WHATS happening in America? For Gods sake, for your children’s sake, register and be done already! what is the big F-in deal? Grow up and face reality! UNTILL it happens to you, don’t cry in your beer!
Firearm registration should never be a problem for law-abiding citizens. For criminals and political reactionaries – left and right – the idea is, of course, anathema.
What is frightening is the ease with which criminals and people with social/emotional disorders can obtain firearms – particularly semi-automatic ones designed for military use. I’m sure that when the framers of the U.S. Constitution were deciding that the country had a right to a “*well-regulated* militia”, they weren’t thinking about a bunch whack jobs in cammies, or a mentally maladjusted individual, running around with an AR15, M16, or M4 and mega-clips of ammo.
The only group that would seem to need to arm themselves against a repressive government would be the African American community. I wonder how the second amendmentists would feel about Blacks returning fire from their living rooms at the cops hunting them there?
The second amendment can’t really be understood without knowing about the conditions at the time it was ratified: and I DON’T mean primitive muskets, I mean the prohibition on standing armies, which therefore necessitated militias. That said, I liked the O. Henry twist at the end, even though possibly it was telegraphed, and I also thought Barney Rubble was making a cameo appearance…….

Trump Disciples will not understand this cartoon — of course, they did not understand it when it first ran.

Looks like Bolling foresaw the Green New Deal back in 2013.

My grandmother got her driver’s license by sending 25 cents to an office in Austin. She never took a driving test in her life. Not even a vision test.

I guessed the twist ending at panel two. I suppose I’ve been binge watching too many Twilight Zone episodes recently.
