Bitterly ironic. Affluenza and similar wild flights of lawyer fancy have become acceptable defenses by judges. Guy drinking and texting, crashes into a car and kills 5 of 6 people – gets a year’s probation instead of vehicular manslaughter or negligent homicide. Thief is injured while committing a 3rd or 4th illegal entry at the same house. He eventually sues and takes not only the house and land he illegally entered, but also the owner’s second house and all his money. It is hard to see the humor in the above.
That’s how twisted the law is. Technically, he shouldn’t be going to jail or paying the robber anything! Since, the robber was breaking the law and he was defending himself. Even, if you do want the robber wanted. Doesn’t mean, he or she still won’t shoot you.
The " System" Really Has Gotten This Bad. I have Lady Friend ( A Single Mom) who’s Son was Mad because She Grounded Him and Denied Him the Use of His PC because He took out Her Truck and Wrecked It without Permission. ( Basically Stole It ) She had just recently been Hit by a Car while walking on a sidewalk (Hit and Run ) and had Her right foot in a Cast. Well Her Son got Violent and Grabbed Her then Stomped on Her Cast Foot. She Slapped Him on his cheek then called the Police. Well Guess What,the Police ended up Charging Her with Domestic Assualt ( I think it was called) because there was No Visible Proof of Her claim BUT Her Son had a Visible Mark on His Face. They Took Her to Jail ! Now That Sure Was JUSTICE, wasn’t it ? :-{

The law usually protects the criminal in most cases…..look at how much trump and his pack of rats already have gotten away with…..

My grand father was charged with assault with a dead weapon but that’s a totally different story.

Florida has stand your ground laws, pretty hard to sue in these cases.
