If you have to ask, don’t bother.

Do celebrities ever read anything not about themselves?

I’ve never been fascinated with celebrity. I can name maybe two dozen actors / actresses, half of whom are still alive. I’m just not impressed with famous people and even less with their likes and dislikes. So celebrity endorsements mean nothing to me.

In my long life, I have met several well-known people and even spent some time with some of them. I’ve also met thousands of lesser-known people and had just as much fun with them.

What is the significance of the book cover with an empty cardboard box on it?

Celebrity endorsed books aren’t the worst of it. I took one course toward a graduate library degree; one of the reasons it was only one is that, at least at U of Illinois, the current orthodoxy is to define video games as a form of literacy. This is akin to defining group sex as a form of chastity.

There’s a good chance that Oprah’s on it.

I would be more likely to ask if a book had been banned by any organization. If someone doesn’t want me to read it, they must be trying to hide something. Or keep me from reaching my own conclusions about something.
