The age of Dinosaurs lasted about 179 million years. Did ya ever think that the asteroid was God’s or someone’s, way of hitting the ‘reset’ button? “This group is not going anywhere, they are just getting bigger. Let’s start over.”
It should be noted, here, that the “asteroid” was NOT the direct cause of the dinosaurs’ demise. Rather, it was more likely the resultant “nuclear winter” caused by all the particulate matter thrown into the atmosphere by that asteroid strike, destroying the biosphere needed by the dinosaurs that caused their rapid demise.
Any time you destroy a biosphere (say, the Amazon Rain Forest), the resultant collapse of the fauna that depend on that biosphere is inevitable as well as “foregone”.
If you’re at all curious, look up “the Year without a Summer”. All of that year’s (1816) climate disasters was due ENTIRELY to a volcanic eruption in the Malay Archipelago.
Dig deeper in that trash can. If they can find a Red Bull or a coffee cup with a little caffeine remaining, Hammy can break space -time and get them back home. Hey, maybe they can take the tyrannosaur with them? He’d make a great addition to the cast.
