    There have been several mentions of Alice In Wonderland and I have made two myself. This second part of the story arc also reminds me of Gulliver’s Travels. Calvin seems to be becoming Gulliver in Lilliput.

    Another thought. Calvin was relieved that his first physical change happened when he was indoors as it saved him from shooting up into the Ionosphere. This second, also temporary, change meant that he needed to get outside. It’s lucky for Calvin that the two changes didn’t happen in reverse order.
