A better plan is to do one push up a day for a week, and then increase the number by one per week. By the end of the year you will be doing 52 pushups a day, which is no small matter for any individual who can see it a challenge starting at only one pushup. (maybe a few crunches in there would be good too)
A friend of mine who is not the type to just make stuff up or pass facts along without verifying them gave me one of my favorite quotes. An artist had been arguing with one of his patrons about a commission, and it wasn’t going well. Exasperated, the artist blurted, “in 200 years, no one will care.” That artist was Michelangelo, and some 500 years later, we do seem to care somewhat. Though I can’t speak for how much attention he was getting 300 years ago. I also haven’t been able to find any record of the quote anywhere, even though, as I mentioned, I trust this friend to have his facts straight, probably more than I trust my research. Maybe he did say it, and most people forgot the quote after 200 years, just not his art.

Thirty days at a ten percent increase per day appears to come to about 17 and a half pushups at the end the month.
Another month gets me up to 304 (and a half).
Of course I know the story of the grain and the chessboard, not that I could manage the 300 these days, heh.

I’d kind of like to see him doing 1.1 pushups the second day, and so on.

You could always study for the test. Your teacher won’t be forgetting it.

Sounds like math might be this young man’s favorite subject.

His math skills are nonexistent.

He’d need to increase by 17.003% to reach 90 on 30 days. At 10%, he’ll only reach 15.86 push-ups.

300% (10% x 30) x 1 push-up is only 3 push-ups. 600% (adding the extra month) would only be 6 push-ups.

Good contrast between Frazz’ line in the final 2 panels. And well laid-out exposition to get us there. Good comic.

His math needs more work than his arms.
