That should be “There WERE three misspellings.” (The Grammar Pedant strikes again!)
I’m surprised that both of you didn’t comment on the fact that all words were spelled correctly, even if one was used incorrectly.
Doesn’t change the fact that they do think their level of intelligence is more superior.
