Oh my goodness, I am deliriously happy for lovely Ellie but not sure that Hubb’s is ready for any of this. I am happy that they are together though, makes my heart sing.

Ellie, like her paramour, will NOT shoot blanks.

Ow sleeps through the drama. While it is not in keeping with what we know of Hubbs’ feelings for him to speak of uncertainty, Ellie’s shotgun does move the narrative along at a brisk pace. The snow family will become a reality sooner, rather than later. Might Mama be the boulder that baby stops cold? Love will win.

I was married once, but I got it annulled. Turned out her dad didn’t have a license for the shotgun. . . .

You can get yourself pregnant this quickly? What the heck did you do to get yourself in this mess, “Hanky Spank”?

I’m torn.

On one hand, time skips always knock me on my butt. It did with Norm and Reine, and it just did here too. I feel like accepting Hubbs and Ellie as a “couple” needed some extra stories. My evidence is Panel #2, where Hubbs is looking so contentedly and calmly at Ellie, when we’re SO used to him being sweaty and freaked out to him being in the same room together. Not that recent events wouldn’t help him along, but that’s why time skips are always so jarring. He obviously did get used to Ellie, and we missed that.

But on the other, BeaR has done everything so well in this strip that I have absolute trust in the decision, and know that it’ll work just fine. It still has the comedy and the FFFFS (Frustratingly Family-Friendly Fan Service), and insane quality of artwork.

So between having trust, but also feeling like I’ve been hit with a pico-pico hammer….it’s a strange feeling.

My big question, moving forward, is how a “time skip” implies “time progression.” Will we see Roy’s kids age at all to compensate for the new baby, or are they staying static ages the way they’ve seemed for the last few years?

As usual, Hubbs is in a daze…they must have been really really busy. At least Ellie is smiling at his “wrong answer” But where has she been keeping the shotgun? It was suddenly very handy

HUH? A shotgun wedding between two characters we have been assured are soul mates just doesn’t ring right. Why all the run-up if the end was so predictable in any cheap-saloon, cheaper-motel scenario meant for fans of Harlequin Romances?

Hubbs has already showed he wanted a life with the girl of his dreams. Why is he reacting this way to a further bond of his love?Why does Ellie, who spent so much time in drag pursuing her beloved, now think he might run out on the arrangement?

We have been promised a Waterford crystal conclusion and we are being served five-and-dime glassware. This is either space aliens at work or someone has poisoned the coffee with second-hand psychedelics.

Let that be a lesson to you, Hubbs. Always wear a condom, and insist on a paternity test.

No Sunday strip again? I thought we would have gotten a Vegas wedding last Sunday or a shotgun wedding this Sunday.

Ok… knowing that the time was short, I am hedging my bets that Hubbs is having a dream about being a father and what we are ‘seeing’ in these panels are the result of that dream.T The reason I say that, is that Ellie is not the type to use a ‘shotgun’ to force Hubbs into a marriage. Because Ellie is not the type to use ‘weapons’… she would use her bare hands. I mean, she didn’t have to use any ‘weapons’ when she finally told Hubbs the truth, did she?

Oh brother. Sedine is going to eat her poor husband alive when she hears this news.
