Andy can’t stand it that her family prefers her mom’s cooking. She’s oblivious to the idea of changing what she cooks.

I’d rather have pizza than tofu.

Having lived in Washington all my life since birth, my Arizona cousins would gather to the grandparents’ house every Friday (or was it Saturday?) for hamburgers. Boy, I sure missed out a lot due to the seldom visits I made.

Bet if they had to live with Grandma for a whole summer or so they’d find out how much better it is at home. You can bet living with Grandma is a lot different from visiting grandma

She told her mother she didn’t want her to cook. Her mother went over her head to the kids. Her mother id’s controlling and overbearing. Her main goal seems to be proving she is better than her daughter.

Always loved my little German Grandmother’s cooking, I remember going there between college classes for lunch, she had a wonderful hot meal for me. Boy that memory has been over 40 years, and now I’m thinking how miss her Christmas cookies.

Andy learned to cook from her mother. No wonder she doesn’t want her mom to cook. Her mom might cook better zucchini dishes than her!

I am beginning to see Andy’s problem with her mom, it is one of boundaries. This is Andy’s home and her mom is ignoring boundaries by circumventing Andy’s decisions and going directly to the kids. Whether or not Andy is a lousy cook is beside the point, you should never ignore the boundaries your host has set.
