Abby's dad: Deanna's dish is the talk of the tailgate party. Gary: Well, we had a big turkey dinner on Thursday. Turkey sandwiches late Thursday night... with cranberry sauce and mayo. Abboy's dad: Yummm. Gary: Turkey enchiladas on Friday... and turkey noodle soup yesterday. SO I'm not sure if this is a legit dish, or Deanna making a statement about turkey leftovers. I have to admit, I've never seen a giblet jell-o mold.

I used to help my grandma make turkey noodle soup … not just at Thanksgiving; throughout the year when we visited. Fond memories.

That must’ve been one big turkey. Either that, or nobody really ate that much.

At one time, my sister worked for a local church. The Women’s Group compiled several cookbooks over the years. She gave me one from 1957. In the Salad section, there were 17 recipes for gelatin salads. Some used plain, others flavored Jell-O. Some were amazingly horrible sounding. One included the following ingredients:
1 pkg. lemon jello
1 c. hot water
3/4 c. cold water
2 T. vinegar
pinch of salt
5 hard-boiled eggs, diced
1 can tuna fish, shredded
1 bunch celery, cut fine
1/2 c. mayonnaise
2 pimentos, chopped
1 green pepper, cut fine
1 can peas, drained.
