George: Jerome's Wii virtual tennis is cool, Dad. Jerome's grandpa: Why don't you just go grab a racket and play real tennis on a tennis court? George: Think about it Dad - it's 40 degrees outside. I can play indoors where it's nice and toasty. Hang on a second, and I'll show you the bowling game. Way cool! Jerome's grandpa: So you don't have to play in those chilly bowling alleys?

When those games came out, my son and his friends were quickly bored by them. They increased the difficulty. The bowler had to into another room where he couldn’t see the screen and bowl from there while the other kids watched the screen and called out directions.

A while back just me at home and I figured out how the grandkids played the ping-pong WII game. I played and played and played. Wife got home and said house smelled like a locker room. I opened the windows and headed to the shower. It was a work out. Still could not beat the grandkids when they visited.

Forty degrees outside? That sounds nice and toasty to me.

The problem with bowling was that you’d decide to go and then find out it was League Night.

40 degrees and it’s too cold to play outside? Sounds like a Californian…I should know; I happen to be one! But I actually like being out in the cold – California cold, that is, not North Dakota cold!
