But, then, who needs ‘everything’? When is enough just enough? Seems distraction has become the opiate of the masses – to paraphrase Karl Marx. Deep study, dedication, common sense applications; all seem to have fallen into the closet under the stairs.
I remember how awesome it was when my folks bought a rotor for the antenna … no more going out and grabbing that frozen pole to turn it by hand when we changed stations.
My first streaming service was an antennae attached to a pole strapped to our chimney. 4 sorta-clear channels (CBC plus 3 from US), 4 more that were less so (US PBS, Hamilton, Kitchener, Peterborough, Barrie). When CTV came about in 1960, it blew our minds that there were so many choices.

The way it is going, you will be paying the same as cable having dozens of streaming services to get everything.

The first TV I saw had continuous tuning to change “channels”. No clicking to preset frequencies, just turn the knob until the picture came into view.

When I was that age, streaming was a urinary problem.

And as an only child, I was the remote control!
