I used dial-up connection for years and there was NO search feature. You could ask members of your user group. When I heard about DSL lines, I called the phone company (anyone remember ATT?) to request the service. Was told not available in your area yet. Took THREE YEARS to get DSL! There wasn’t even a version of Windows yet! That is some 35 years ago (don’t hold me to that, I wasn’t actually counting then) and I was a plugger then. I am still a plugger and durn proud of it!
Has happened to me a few times. Items that used to be common in stores or something you THINK should be easy to find….aint. Last bad example I experienced was trying to find some Testors glue for a plastic model kit. When I was a kid just about every store carried it…..not anymore!!!
One big plus for the intertubes, access to just about everything for sale on the planet. Got some oak stair treads two years ago when I was renovating the living room. Some place down south and shipping cost almost as much as the treads, but there wasn’t any store in my area that carries wood treads.

You are a Plugger if you don’t buy stuff using the internet.

Pluggers learn to call around and check online these days before putting 18,000 miles a year on the vehicle without ever leaving town.

Learn to search online. It’s a lot faster, and you aren’t burning gas.

Yeas an online search would be faster ….. but first you must have a line to be online ;-)

As a Plugger I spend a lot of time looking for something I can modify to replace an item that isn’t made anymore.

On Line? Isn’t that when someone else is using the telephone (party) line? Could be a long wait ;)

Don’t know how to play the thing anyway. Just like to get out of the house.

Just see if the trombone junkyard has the same model you can pull one from.

The reason I buy online – at least you can usually find it there. Unlike brick and mortar- which have limited space.

What if expeditions are your errands? Would that make Mark Trail a plugger?

Must have one heck of a “Honey Do” list waiting for him back home.
