Oh come on, I can only suspend disbelief so far. The average person can only hold his or her breath for two minutes or so. Trained athletes and special ops can go three minutes maybe a bit more. While there are a few who may go more, to include some incredible world records, I doubt if Jim had that skill.
Tarzan may have a huge capacity, three maybe four minutes. But by my count, even they both had the presence of mind to take a huge gulp of air before entering the water, between the demands of the muscle for oxygen during the struggle and at least five to seven minutes under water, neither would be going to the surface. Sigh.
There is that. And how about the octopus? He had sense enough to know there were two attackers, that one was knifing him, and the strategic ability and will to release the correct one. A trained dog probably wouldn’t be that smart, they just stupidly hang on. I’m starting to think this is not a true story.

The eyes of the octopus have always looked sentient; thinking I went to college for this?

We know Tarzan will take care of Kraka. The real question is who is on the boat waiting for Cross?

Did Tarzan ever manage to come up for air? I can’t remember that far back.

Swimming with flailing arms? Bad technique. I give him a 2.0.
