Somebody always has to drag out the old ‘adult too friendly with child’ crap in this strip. It’s just a comic!!
The only objection I have with seeing so much of Frazz is that there are several other characters I like, but who hardly show up some months. They also are intelligent, with a sense of humor, and they also interact with the kids on a daily basis. The same for seeing a mass of kids on their own in class. A school is a compact model of our entire society and spontaneity is its best feature.
Folks, let’s not forget that tomorrow is supposed to be a birthday party…and unfortunately most of us forget who the real guest of honor is supposed to be: “Away in a manger/no crib for a bed/ the little Lord, Jesus/ lay down his wee head…”
I’m a big believer in a conservative, if not fully minimalist, approach to material goods. But if human history has taught us anything, it’s that it’s one thing to believe in something and another to follow it.
I try, though, and my life has landed me where, in certain circles, in spite of my urging and even pleading, Christmas means a lot of incoming stuff. When I was young and struggling, that was really nice. Now I’m old and spent too many years letting stuff pile up, and things feel out of balance. Correcting that is an ongoing challenge, but I think I’m getting less frustrated. The CSC (Christmas Stuff Count) has gone down a tad, and a good deal has been shifting to a lot more charitable donations. And as for the stuff that still comes in, the bagging-day culling exercise that follows has actually gotten to be kind of, I wouldn’t call it fun, though I might call it rewarding; I’ll go with enlightening. When you find yourself rounding up and tallying and jettisoning things you actually like and use, yeah, it’s frustrating, but it’s an effective way to learn what you value more and what you value less. And it’s a really clear indication that you’re getting closer to a more sensible balance. And are still ridiculously spoiled.
So maybe I will go with calling it rewarding. I’ll let you know when I figure out about fun.View the comic strip for Frazz by cartoonist Jef Mallett created December 26, 2019 available on GoComics.com

Blizzard? What blizzard? It’s freakishly warm near the Frazz Factory. It’s always a gamble doing a weather reference any more than 48 hours out, and even I’m not that problematic with the deadlines.
At least the phases of the moon can be counted on.

I’d be more afraid of overly friendly school custodians.

It’s interesting that so much of our Santa Claus comes from an anti-Irish bigot.

I still love the original Scrooge. How many people tell scary ghost stories for Christmas
