    One hundred years ago today the Red Sox sold a left-handed pitcher who could hit, and in fact on his no-pitching days he played in the outfield to keep his bat in the line-up, to their hated rivals, the New York Yankees. Guy named George Herman Ruth, nicknamed “Babe.” It was a better deal for the Yankees.
