Sorry but the log fume ride looks more thrilling than dangerous. The old fashioned hero tied to a log being fed into a ripsaw blade is the proper way to do this. Ian Flemming’s “Goldfinger” did this with Bond strapped on a gold ingot facing a giant saw blade. This was updated to a laser for the film.

Actually, log flumes were primarily “V” shaped. It kept the logs from getting jammed.
