Now he’s retired he either has a difficult time in finding things to do or is overwhelmed with doing things he didn’t have time to do when he was working.;-D

You’re all familiar with the saying, “I’m too old for this s___!”?

    That pertains to retirement, too.

I’d say it’s the toughest work I’ve never had to do.

Now that I’m retired, I don’t know how I ever had time to get anything done when I wasn’t.

It’s tought alright. Right now l’m in my morning routine of reading the daily comics. After that who knows, maybe a stroll at the beach, play some guitar or go out with the old fellow retirees to watch working people do what they get pay to do.Good thing l might get out of the office early today….

I found the lack of socializing with my fellow workers (even the ones I didn’t particularly relish) was particularly hard. I should have joined a service organization or something.

I like waking up knowing I don’t have to go to work so much that I do it 3 or 4 times a day.

I worked for the same company for 45 years. I retired 30 Nov 2015 and did a massive brain dump the following day; it cleared my mind. Now I volunteer at the level that suits me. I don’t miss the long commutes in inclement weather, filled with boneheaded drivers. I don’t miss the work politics. I don’t miss having to decide what to wear to work the next day. We have no mortgage, no car payments, no outstanding debt. We live in Canada, our healthcare system has been a lifesaver. I am happily married for coming on 40 years. I am fortunate and I know it. I am content.

It sounds like we’re all retired – and we all think this comic makes NO sense. I’ve been working my whole life to be retired, and I’m enjoying every day of it.

…and there’s no financial compensation. The hardest part is there are no set hours either, so I end up working way more than 8 hours per day.

Finding things to do can be challenging, especially when the internet is down.

Retirement doesn’t have to be boring, just stay busy! Today I ran a blood drive. 31 donors collected 35 units of blood, which will impact and/or save 105 lives.

It also depends on where you live… I retired 8 years ago, but, am still working full time. And I thought my other didn’t raise any stupid kids!
