Honestly, I see absolutely no point in having a dog if you’re just going to leave the poor thing outside all the time. Above anything else, dogs want time with their human(s).
I have to call my dogs in sometimes, as they’re not bright enough to come in out of the cold. Find ‘em sitting out on the porch shivering, 2’ away from an unlocked doggie door…
NOT ALL DOGS LIKE WARMTH … look at Huskey’s, Malamutes, etc.If they are sitting against an outside door… it’s because your house is TOO WARM for them.
Nice try Chip, but, only small dogs, or dogs with light coats need to be brought in.
My uncle bred Blood Hounds, and they slept out in the kennel year round. In South-West Ontario Canada.
My Pit-Lab mix had a sweater, a leather- like jacket and booties. He would patiently wait for me to put them on him when we went out side. Someone had offered me their old dog house but, I told them thanks but, my dog did not stay outside at night, even in the Summer. I could never understand the point of having a dog and leaving it tied up outside all alone.

If my nose hairs froze, it was too cold to play outside.

After being owned by Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes for 35 years when you try to bring them in they’ll usually ask you for one more hour.

Louie, good! Let Scratch eat the mice as most cats do.

Yes, OF COURSE! Bring them in when it’s colder than 60 degrees, much less 3 below zero!

I’d put newspapers down in the garage during subzero weather when we had dogs, instead of sending them all the way out.

A worthy public service announcement, for which I’m sure many dogs are thankful. Thanks, Chip.
