This is something I think that women (girls) don’t usually understand. It’s not really the fear of rejection. Heck, we’re used to that, and most guys have no problem with it. It’s the fear of being laughed at and perhaps even publicly humiliated. What could be worse for a teenager than that? It’s not near such a big deal when one is an adult! It’s unfortunate that our society doesn’t (or didn’t) “allow” the female side to do the “asking”!
