By the way, Linus, it’s extortion — not blackmail. Snoopy isn’t threatening to reveal damaging or embarrassing information about you if you don’t write the letter. You’re just not going to get your blanket back until you do! :-D

Well, he isn’t a typical neighborhood dog. He’s much better than a typical neighborhood dog.

Of course Linus could have said “I can’t do it… I don’t think that you really are typical of a neighborhood dog… I think you are superior to the typical neighborhood dog. And you deserve an award which reflects how much more special you are.” and Snoopy would have hopefully left him be. But no, he had to act more like Lucy.

Dear Sirs: I’d like to recommend, in the strongest possible way, that Snoopy the dog be nominated for….a cell at the dog kennel!
