Avoid ‘specials’. Worst case of food poisoning I had was from ‘shrimp bisque special’. At first I thought I was going to die but later I was afraid I wouldn’t!

Ewwww……eating at a greasy spoon is detrimental to ones health….

A lot of decades ago, my dad told me the only blue plate special was an open-faced roast beef sandwich with mashed, gravy, and green beans, and you got it at the dinette counter at Woolworth’s store in Richmond. Had to go with that. He was Dad.

Is that a novelty ashtray on the table?

How about if I say the default alternative is kale salad?

The diner at Table 4 wouldn’t eat it and it’s getting cold now.
