I’ve never had a problem with Mondays, even before I retired. I was in IT and all too often got called in on weekends; so Mondays weren’t the first workday.
I wish we could see something bad happen to Garfield on a Monday like in the old days of the strip (i.e., a pie coming out of nowhere to hit him in the face).
I’m retired, so Mondays don’t bother me. However, I do like to sleep in as I read in bed late before shutting the light off. Where I get irritated is that some idiots like calling me up at the crack of dawn for some unimportant nonsense.
Anyone remember the “Garfield and Friends” episode “Day of Doom”? In that episode, Garfield is so sick and tired of Mondays that he finds a wishing well in the park while he, Jon, and Odie are on a walk. So because of that, Garfield decides to wish for no more Mondays, which surprisingly enough comes true. At first, Garfield enjoys a life with no Mondays, until he learns that a lot of things have been thrown out of wack, due to there being no more Mondays. The final straw comes when Garfield wants Jon to make him lasagna, but Jon tells him that he usually makes lasagna for him on Mondays. Garfield returns to the park to find the wishing well and tries to wish Mondays back… only for the wishing well to refuse. Then a spacecraft appears, and the wishing well’s mother shows up and berates him for misusing his powers. It turns out that the wishing well and his mother are actually aliens that just happen to look like wishing wells, and the young wishing well was just taking advantage of his race’s shape to make people’s wishes come true. And after the mother wishing well sends the young wishing well back into the spacecraft and the mother wishing well explains everything to Garfield, the mother wishing well brings Mondays back, along with all of the other things that the young wishing well eliminated, at Garfield’s request. This experience causes Garfield to appreciate just how important Monday is… though up until he ends up getting hit with a pie, as per usual on Mondays.

I never understood Garfield’s aversion to Mondays since he doesn’t have a job.

What’s a Monday? I’ve been retired for close to 15 years now so to me all days are the same.
The only variation in my day to day activity is the couple days a week I indulge in my hobby and volunteer as a docent at the zoo.
