One of the things that caused me to stop was moving to a house that was half way up a very steep driveway, and finding myself panting on the way up.

Mini-fact: Rattlers often strike a rodent and before it dies, it runs off, and there are often a bunch of similar rodents in the area. They usually find the one they struck because, scientists have recently proved, they follow the scent of their own venom.

A snake lighting a cigarette. That’s something I’d pay to see. Although there’s probably a video on YouTube of it.

One of the common beliefs about why people gain weight when they stop smoking is that food smells and tastes better.

When I stopped smoking, I gained 10 pounds in the first month. That was understandable since I was on deployment to Germany and the food and beer was too good to pass up.

So I went on a diet and exercise program and gained 10 more pounds.

Then I went on a very strict diet and exercise program and finally stopped gaining weight after putting on another 10 pounds.

I eventually worked off 20 of that 30 pounds.

The reason for the weight gain was that smoking was the equivalent of carrying a 30-lb weight around constantly. It was that much stress on my body. It does not merely kill you with the tar and nicotine; it wears you out with stress.

It was his smoker’s cough giving him away just before attempting to strike…

Quitting cigarettes is easy! I have done it thousands of times.
