To answer the question most of the birds that sing at 5:30 AM are male and basically their singing translates as “This is my territory, you other dudes want it ya gotta deal with me” or “Hey there all you chicks I here come and get me”. Of course I’m from New Jersey and that’s how most young hetro males sound like.
Sergioandrade is correct. Birds are declaring and reclaiming their territory. I love to listen to the early morning calls from the bird kingdom. And here on the east coast of South Africa the sun rises at about 5 AM so the birds start much earlier than that. And if one is awake as the first day birds are chirping sometimes one can hear the last calls from the night birds as they sign-off for the night. A beautiful symphony from the avian kingdom :)
I’ll trade you the birds for my neighbor’s car! Figures the guy with the loudest car has to go to work the earliest. Blah. At least I enjoy listening to the birds!
They got woken up by all those noisy damned Worms coming home from a night of Drinking and the Birds are complaining about the racket the drunk Worms are making.

3:30 in the spring and summer. Robins and cardinals start first.

I live in a 55+ community and the birds aren’t allowed to chirp before 8.

Birds chirping at 5:30 a.m. don’t bother me. The neighbor’s yappy dog waking me up does.
