But the gloves had an idiot string attached to them.

How do you lose ‘idiot’ gloves? The string should keep them inside your coat.

How on earth did he lose them? They were attached to strings. My mother used to call them idiot mitts (but that is not at all PC nowadays). They were strung through the arms and unless you broke the string, impossible to lose.

Shame on her! What responsible mother sends her kid out with mittens attached by a yarn string run through the sleeves?

Mom’s fault for handing them to him instead of stringing them through his sleeves!

Any bets that they’re stuck up his sleeves?

I hope Mr. Carlson found them. That way, Wallace can find the gloves and a sasquatch.
