My mom, a bridge player, had her bridge cards and the kids were promised eternal torment (and immediate consequences too) if we so much as opened those double-packs. On the other hand, as a card player, she wanted us all to learn to handle cards, so we were given the decks that had gotten worn… and plenty of cheaper decks too. Which fairly quickly became either limp or sticky… and we never did figure out why she was so adamant about not touching her special cards… :)
There was a Dick van Dyke show where he was winning at poker and then he realized that they were playing with marked cards. They were his cards, so he tried losing on purpose. When he bet a lot on a bad hand, others folded so he couldn’t lose. They found out that the cards were marked.
Kind of sad – Dad has to have known which card that was – why else would he have folded? – yet he used the deck anyway. Starting to get a better idea about Calvin now…

That’s why every poker game should start with a new sealed deck.

My brother did this to my dads poker deck. He was 3 but he knew how to cheat. Had to let him know and he was embarrassed to say the least.
