Man, terrible timing for a comic about watching any sport right now.

Now that all sports are gone for awhile, kids will have to come up with other reasons to stay up past bedtime.

There are always “classic” (repeat, i.e.) games to watch. The ’69 Mets? The “Miracle On Ice”?

No more hockey to watch. Look at it this way, the Sharks and Canucks are not losing tonight. And the Bruins are not winning. Rats.

I’ve never found any team sports interesting in themselves, but sometimes they take on a powerful allure by presenting themselves as alternatives to activities even less appealing.

How about that infomercial about the copper colored cook-ware?

Let us turn to PBS and watch one of those dramas or comedies.

CBC is showing two bilingual movies called Bon Cop, Bad Cop instead of hockey. You get to see some hockey in the first one and if they didn’t censor it you will learn a lot about swearing in French. … Bilingual movie, the characters switch back and forth between English and French. The movies are, in my opinion, closest in tone to the Lethal Weapon movies.
