As I’ve mentioned twice this week, Red lying in his sickbed and watching TV has reminded me of a one-off Calvin and Hobbes strip. The pay-off line there was “I think I learn more when I’m off school than when I’m in school.”
As a kid in the 70s, I would favor the game shows and find some other diversion when it was nothing but soap operas. But then, I was also the kid who on weekends when there was nothing on but sports would look for either figure skating or gymnastics to see the really limber girls in skimpy outfits.

He should continue to self-isolate.

Get wet and being cold do not make you sick. It may lower resistance but it doesn’t make you sick.

Red just got over his cold, so his resistance could be lower, so, he could more easily fall prey to a new illness, or a second round of having a cold.

I hated being sick as a kid because soaps were the only daytime TV back then, then Mike Douglas came on in the afternoon…

Red’s got a point. But I doubt that’s the kind of “education” mom and dad would approve of.

In my day it was only AM radio morning soap operas & Arthur Godfrey sipping Lipton tea.

Too much TV will have Red living in la la land. Not good!
