Bambi finally found a calling.
Unfortunately, venison transmitters were still more than a decade away, and Dr. Rudolph died of a broken heart before then.
It looks like he upgraded from that bank of potato batteries.
I can remember building a crystal radio set as a boy. It was very exciting to pick up the strongest local AM stations. Wait till this guy grows older and sees his accomplishment eclipsed by digital bison. :)
