The flour could have been from genetically modified grains that were down wind of a badly maintained nuclear power plant. And has Dean ever read any comics where the human superhero or villain didn’t get powers from a ridiculous source? The most plausible among the toxic spiders, toxic waste, chemical baths, etc., that I can think of is Steve Rogers and the metabolic serum, and that’s impossible with current science.
Squirrel Girl, Dean. Also, there’s plenty of holes with Spiderman’s dumb powers. How does the spider sense know what’s life-threatening? How does he cling to walls when he’s wearing a full body suit, including boots? How does have spider powers give him a healing factor that is weaker than Wolverine’s yet keeps him alive? Get lost, Dean.

There’s a number of characters who live a life like this: Peter Parker, Ben Tennyson, Star Butterfly. (Anyone remember that show, "Static Shock?)

Radioactive spider: Checks out.

Random wizard dude hanging out in front of an abandoned subway: Checks out
Alien drops out of the sky at your feet and bequeaths his power to you: Checks out.
Radioactive snacks: That’s too far!

Dean, if you think THAT strains credibility, just look at the new Marvel Comics super-heroes “Snowflake” and “Safespace.”
