@Number Three Today’s strip is slightly funny and a repeat , for our HERO Mr Andrew Capp being in a fight cloud is the norm and he doesn’t care if the other bloke is wearing glasses and the colorist must be half asleep or sloppy because there are so many uncoloured frames :o{ my avatar is a picture of an old bloke getting out of bed , shouting at the world that he does not have to work because he is retired and promptly going back to bed again , well I have been retired since 1997 and if I shout out that our neighbours will think that poor Tony has finally lost it :o) how as your day? ours should be busy and a bit confusing because this afternoon we are having our Finally Friday inside BBQ instead of tomorrow , because Friday is dedicated to our Lady of sorrows and Catholics don’t eat meat on this day. I never new that Hartlepool was twinning with Sliema , the town where I lived from when I was 7 yrs old till I left to get married in 1969 , stay safe and BCNU pal
The Rose & Crown. Reminds me of the scene in the World War 2 movie, The Battle of Britain. An old man is at a loss mumbling to himself inside the bomb shelter. “They got The Rose & Crown. They got the Rose & Crown!” Two old biddies cackle at him. “I guess he’ll have to do his drinking at The Red Lion. If they’ll have him!”
Here in the UK, every Thursday at 8pm we are going outside our houses or near an open window and we are giving a round of applause for the NHS staff and carers because of how absolutely brilliant they are during this awful, unpredictable time. They are doing such a wonderful job and are having to spend even less time with their families because of this.
It all started last week so it’s a very new tradition. I have just clapped and while I was doing so, I heard some fireworks going off. It was so moving.

Ah, I long for those days of yore, when one could go to the pub … hang on, that was only 3 weeks ago. Thanks Covid-19.

And so the bloke and his little lady searches for a pub with a more friend atmosphere like that of “Cheers”.

“I agree, dear. The ‘oof’ was one thing.. but an ‘erk,’ that’s a bit much. Find another pub.”

Here in the US, taking your girl to a bar is just asking for trouble. There’s no upside.

Only in Cappland can we find an open pub, at the moment.
Come on in! Have a pint or a wee dram. I’m buyin’!

Here’s an idea. Get rid of the pool table and the karaoke machine and invest in a boxing ring for the pub instead.

This is a video of me clapping from last week:

If that pub was any livelier, it would be on fire!

I’m thankful that the golf courses around me are still open.
