if the grandparents have the same surname as your father, then they’re your father’s parents; different surname means your mother’s parents… BUT if they have a different surname as both your parents, then your mother and/or father’s parent and stepparent

Wonder if Big Shirley is a howler when Grandma’s piano is played.

Depends on who’s playing: Grandma or Big Shilrly? And don’t call me Shirley!

I have cousins (on my Mom’s side) that are once, twice and thrice removed. I keep wondering why they were removed and why they won’t stay away.

It’s all relative.

Alice reminds me of my best friend’s kid sister from years ago, except that her conversations were more like “Guess what? We were downtown an’ guess what! There was a horse, an’ GUESS WHAT…!”

We used to try to sidetrack her by pretending we were guessing what.

Ah, sweet mystery of life. Grandma and Grandpa are just that, and only that. Grandma and Grandpa!
