I was commenting to my grandson the other day as we were in a local store that having people stay six feet away from me no longer feels anti-social or creepy.
“Social Distancing” could be the title of my autobiography. Something I have gotten very used to over the decades. But now, I find that I resent being told that this is what I am supposed to do. How dare they tell me to live my “normal” lifestyle!
Neighbor Bob seemed like the kind of idiot that would totally ignore all guidelines and probably doesn’t even believe the virus is a threat. Like, he still has his obnoxiously loud parties at night regardless.

At least we don’t have to anymore go through that social awkwardness of trying to figure whom to kiss hello.

During all of this I have discovered many people I actually would touch with a 10’ pole. Well, not so much “touch” as strike forcibly and repeatedly.

If you can judge lengths in the first three panels by Neighbor Bob’s height, then Rat has gotten a lot close to him than 6 feet.
I used to think that some people were standing uncomfortably close to me when we spoke; now everyone is uncomfortably far away.

While Rat is at most 4 ft away from him.

Speaking of one being ahead of their time, it seems Gene Roddenberry had it right with the Vulcan salute. Shaking hands is so 20th century.

See, if we all had 6’ poles the problem would be solved. Well, for rat maybe a 10 footer would be better.
