I wanted to make the first comment, so I could predict that someone would post how offended they are. Too late — missed my chance to appear like a real prognosticator.
Anyone, who doesn’t get how helpful this Covid-19 series of comics is, needs to do some remedial studies, before attempting to read this strip. It’s obviously flying over their heads, like Lio’s balloon.
I don’t see this thread as helpful or harmful. Just an artist’s commentary on a current crisis — showing relevance and provoking thought. Which is worthwhile and warranted.
Strange how people often draw the virus big (I know, artistic license), but it’s ironic because the actual virus is so small you can’t see it with a regular microscope… it’s essentially a machine made out of molecules.
I had people crowding behind me in line at the pharmacy to pick up our prescriptions—it was nuts. I turned around and said, I’ve just come off my two week quarantine from what was probably COVID-19. They didn’t test me because I wasn’t quite sick enough to go to the hospital, but you might not want to stand so close. Suddenly magically everybody was six feet apart from each other. It was just as effective as walking around with a covid-19-shaped balloon!

The creature is actually well-behaved. Didn’t bark at the dog or anything.

Or… perhaps it’s a message that going outside without wearing a mask is tantamount to taking your virus out for a walk…
